Ten years supporting the development of rural children in Norte de Santander
Humanitos was born in 2016 with the hope of a more equitable, peaceful Colombia — one with greater visibility for farming communities, essential to food production and the care of nature.
We are part of this territory
We grew up walking these same rural paths — with parents who were teachers for rural children, and a bond with the land that began long before Humanitos existed. That's why we know these families not as visitors, but as part of this territory. Today we keep walking that same path alongside volunteers and allies from different parts of the world who believe, like us, in the power of cooperation.
What we've achieved together
One territory, two municipalities
What we're building
All of our projects are born from a need identified together with rural communities and educational institutions in Norte de Santander
Education and Culture
Education and Culture
In rural villages, the teacher isn't just a teacher — they're the center of development. We strengthen their work with more tools, so it reaches further.

Health and Wellbeing
Health and Wellbeing
For many farmers, caring for their health means hours of travel. That's why we bring the health day straight to the village.
We focus on alternative and complementary medicine.
Technology
Technology
Technology doesn't always reach the countryside first. That's why we bring digital and artificial intelligence tools to allied rural schools — so this territory also has the tools of the future, instead of being the last to receive them.

Intercultural Connection
Intercultural Connection
We're the bridge between international allies and the communities of Norte de Santander. Through Proyecto Conexión, we bring interviews with experts straight to rural villages, to inspire our rural children with the whole world.
See our connection projectsEvery cent has a clear purpose
Our work with communities is built on shared investment: the community proposes the project, contributes, and we complete what's needed to make it happen. Each community takes ownership of its own progress.
At every Humanitos Day we turn into a school-supply store, where each child picks out their own. Something this simple becomes an opportunity to bring dignity and encourage them to keep studying.
